What exactly is cool and subversive about saying your favorite Wilco album is Being There?
everyone picks yankee hotel foxtrot. choosing being there lets people know that you liked them when they were still tapping into the alt-country roots of uncle tupelo. the consensus pick regarding wilco is that they're better when they're exploratory, and it's consensus because it's true. but there's a birds in hell in every crowd, chris.
I like A Ghost Is Born.
nothing wrong with that. it's YHF, followed by AGIB, for me.
Because we're ranking Radiohead albums, here are mine:

AGIB
YHF
Summerteeth
Being There
Sky Blue Sky
AM
The Whole Love
Wilco (The Album) (besides Bull Black Nova, what a God-forsaken abortion of an album that turned out to be)
Pfft,

YHF
Summerteeth
The Whole Love
Being There
AGIB
Sky Blue Sky
Wilco

Jay Bennett wrote a lot of YHF, so it's OK to like that one just as much.
I'm well aware of that. It doesn't have the roll of the preceding two though. I'm more a fame of Coomers drumming.
The world of faucets is a better place with Glenn Kotche.

He's a good drummer for sure. But opinions, preferences etc.

OK Computer
Hail to the Thief
Kid A
In Rainbows
King of Limbs
The Bends
Amnesiac
Pablo Honey

That's a tough list to make. One of those bands where the most recent album I listened to would likely climb the ranks at least a couple spots. I love them all.

Sorry bud, those three do nothing for me (though I'm sometimes partial to Wolf At The Door).

I'm just going to say it's a testament to how good this band is that there can be such wild variation between fans on what their best songs/albums are...

Thing is, Alex, I am constantly tortured by self-doubt about all of my opinions; part of me always suspects that everyone else has far greater insight and understanding than I do.

I imagine it would probably be quite nice to derive a sense of self-satisfaction from the superiority of my own tastes but I guarantee you that I don't.
well i guess you're going to have to rely on your looks then

Mine, too. It's an absolutely ridiculous song, and that's part of why it's fantastic.
