What's the story with that stuff? Is it not sold in stores or something? How often is it released?
where do I begin? I hate what has happened to this stuff the last 6 years or so..when I lived in NYC I could get the 10-12 year olds with no problemChris_H_2 wrote:What's the story with that stuff? Is it not sold in stores or something? How often is it released?
very nicedurdencommatyler wrote:A liquor store in Lenexa KS was doing a drawing for a bottle of the 15 and 20. You had to be present to win, so we had my dad put his name down for each. He won the 15 and is shipping it to us in NYC. Totally lucked out.
Also they had issues with their 23 year reserve a few years ago which prevented it's distribution. So they didn't release a 23 for a few consecutive years. Combine that with everything doug just said and the 23 became the most coveted bourbon on the market.doug rr wrote:where do I begin? at many liquor stores for about $32 a bottle..some of them even had dust gathered on the bottles at some stores..I've always loved the stuff since a friend turned me onto it about 15 years ago..anyway, a few years ago, hundreds or thousands of cases, not sure which , were stolen and it caused a big stir in the bourbon world..fast forward to the last couple of years with dumb celebs and known chefs touting the greatness of pappy..it pisses me off to no end much like pliny..the normal guy cant get one without jumping through hoops, paying way over retail or knowing the secret handshake to even be considered getting one...rant over...glad I got one

My cousin can't get it in SoCal so I ship it to him.durdencommatyler wrote:![]()

this reminds me of what happened to one of my favorite milwaukee dive bars about ten years ago. maxim magazine did a write up on it and it turned into douchebag central after that, too crowded to even enjoy.doug rr wrote:where do I begin?
