i was slow to get deftones. i kept trying different albums and wasnt getting anything to stick. When i actually focused on listening to white pony/around the fur a few nights while working on some mild house renovations late at night, it all clicked.

Nah you gotta put on Diamond Eyes first before any of those, it has the most White Pony/Around the Fur vibes out of anything they did afterwards.

I got into Deftones when self titled was their new album. I think that one and Saturday Night Wrist are some of my favorites, but I get why people gravitate to Diamond Eyes and Koi more than those too. I'm just saying the casuals sleep on s/t and SNW and that Diamond Eyes is more broadly appealing.
