King felt that seeing someone more average looking (like Moriarty) slip into insanity would have been much more compelling. He's probably right. But I still thought Nicholson was great.

I personally think Nicholson is unfuckwithable in pretty much every movie he's in, but that's just me.

But it would have been interesting to see King's vision, as well. Very different and not necessarily better, but interesting.
