Edit: It's definitely quirky. But then Zooey Deschanel is quirky, and I find her to be quite tedious. So I think I actually do get your criticism.
I just found myself distracted from the story quite a bit. I don't know. *shrugs*

I liked Funny People a lot. Besides that, I haven't seen a Sandler movie I liked since The Wedding Singer.
