If you saw it you'd understand that that cinematic sweeping blah blah you mention wouldn't ft in this film at all.

It's one guy stuck in a small base trying to survive. It hardly needs swooping overhead cameras or john Willams scoring it. Neither would work at all in this film.

Which would be obvious if you watched it.

Wiig was oddly out of her depth. Glover was fine. I didn't have an issue with either of them really, but Wiig definitely looked a bit lost. Probably because her characters was fairly unnecessary. The script didn't give her much to do and I'm guessing Scott didn't feel any need to go above and beyond directing her.

Kristen Wiig is a one-note actor. It's a great note -- she's really funny, and can command my empathy in a good rom-com -- but that's it. Terrible casting on that one.

Glover is always just so cute and hamboney, it always strikes me as trying too hard. I never like him.

Yea, didn't see Welcome to Me. While I didn't hate Skeleton Twins, I thought Bill Hader was the obvious highlight, and she seemed to just be playing a sadder version of her usual characters.

Sure, I can see that. And yeah Hader was definitely better; far exceeded my expectations.
