this is known as the B movie genre. you're late to the party.
B movies look like shit and are usually crammed with filler because of budget. If you have 200 million to blow, make an 80 minute special effects extravaganza and stfu about heroes and villains and plot and stupid shit like that.
transformers then
Thats the problem with Transformers: its full of bullshit. nothing happens for what seems like hours. It has Shia running around like an idiot while the parents eat pot brownies and try desperately to be funny. And they just keep getting longer, without adding explosion! The last piece of shit was nearly 3 hours long! What the fuck did Bay think he was making? Something important? it should have been 90 minutes, tops, with nothing but 'splosions and robots. That fucking idiot can't even get "dumb" right.

it could be from Loiter Squad or whatever that short-lived show from adult swim was a little while ago. I think I first saw that gif on reddit and then the Rebar account made it part of RM's DNA

KIDS THINK A STEGOSAURUS IS LIKE AN ELEPHANT NOW SO WE NEED TO MAKE BETTER DINOSAURS

why? Kids fucking love the goddamned zoo. There are thousands of them around the world, and kids still love them. My kids can watch fucking Rio 2 7 times in a day if I let them. They dont get bored with things they like. Hell, the news still reports when our local zoo has baby animals like its a big deal. The need to create a super dinosaur for attendance reasons is beyond ridiculous. People flock to zoos still, and all it takes is a family of baby warthogs named after characters from Game of Thrones.
Just took my kids to see this today, read through this thread, and chose this to talk about. Kids do love the zoo. Kids like my 5 year old. Ever see a 12 year old at the zoo? Bored as shit unless they're on their phone. I suspect the kids they were referring to are teenagers. Nothing blows their minds.

That iconic scene in the original where Laura Dern stands up in the Jeep and sees the Brachiasaurs was amazing. We were all feeling the same awe her character was. How the fuck did they do that? We had cassettes, 27 inch tv's in wooden frames, encyclopedias, and phones tethered to the wall. When the SNES came out, I could not believe the graphics. My generation has seen incredible advances in pretty much everything (except face to face communication). Kids like mine (8 and 5) have always known flat screen tv's, smartphones, iPads, the Internet, FaceTime, etc. Graphics in games now are so good they're rarely even mentioned.

My guess is if Jurassic World was real, after the novelty wore off it would be like Disneyworld. It would be popular, but it would need a new ride now and again. Little kids would love it, but teenagers would rather be at the beach with their friends.

Oh, and the movie was fine. My kids both loved it and spent the rest of the day playing dinosaurs. I thought about Bryce Dallas Howard's assets and wondered what they'd look like out of containment.

Then fine, introduce that spinosaurus that killed a t Rex in like 11 seconds in Jurassic park 3. You don't need to make up some bullshit super power dinosaur

I don't want to read this whole thread. Did anyone actually like the movie? I know it made a billion dollars, but does anyone really like it?

I had fun at it. I had zero expectations and I had no idea jurassic park was such a huge movie event. Two showtimes were sold out. People were dressed up. I thought they were already lining up for star wars but i guess not

Yeah, I massively underestimated how huge this was gonna be. I went on opening night not expecting anything out of the ordinary. That theater was jumpin'.

Yeah, but this is not 1993. Also, JP3 wasn't that big of a deal.

No, but it's been a long time. We now live in the age of the reboot/sequel. Summer blockbusters are about bigger than ever. Plus, Chris Pratt. Plus, "return to form."
