Such a cool dude. Again, a great inspiration to me.

At this moment in the band's career he's the sole reason they still try to progress. Creatively he's the driving force now.

Gigaton is just a couple of months old and he's already talking about a new record!!
“I mean, no matter what happens, hopefully we can make another record at some point. Even if we have to do it, sort of like, separately,” Ament says. “We have the technology, so I think we could do it like where it was all of us in a room as long as we had like a boy in a plastic bubble or Wayne Coyne Flaming Lips balls or something that we can play inside of those things. We all have plenty of time on our hands so when the time is right, it shouldn’t be too hard. I’m sure everybody’s stockpiling riffs at this point.”

It will wear on you after a while. I love them in 20-30 minute bursts. The new stuff sounds like they're evolving the sound a bit.

Best current rock band going, and to me it's not even close.

If I could recommend a couple of songs as entry points, lyrically and musically:

Mother
Television
Never Fight a Man With a Perm
I'm Scum

Their live record is a good entry point as well. I can definitely see how they'd mesh well with PJ.

:peace:

Now I'll stop hijacking the Jeff thread with IDLES content.

Just saw that Idles tv thing with Jeff, it was fun. He is super cool. Jenny from Savages was there, nice to see her so happy.

That Idles show was really good fun. Nice to see Jeff exchanging with less commercially successful musicians in such a humble way. Not that you’d expect him to act up but he comes across as a very well adjusted and good humoured person.
