In July. I'll find out tomorrow if I've got a place or not. Fingers crossed.

That piece is brilliant. Fingers crossed for you.

I made a brass cocktail ring yesterday because I was called off work. It's so gawdy...lol. I used brass stock, steel design punches, floral arrangement glass and scrapbook paper.

That's so beautiful!! You could sell those easily!!

I didn't make the cut for the competition. They were inundated with tables apparently.
Bullshit.
I give up. Probably had too much hope pinned on this anyways.

Ah nuts. Maybe next time? I quit doing juried shows because they're a bit slanted towards favorite folks.

Yeah, I may go get some more of these glass pieces and see if I can start a new line of basemetal funky costume jewelry. I've used resin but I like the glass better. Resin makes me want to sink little doo-dads into it then it gets to be too much. Last night I threatened to use little print outs of victorian era porn/pin-ups rather than the scrapbook paper I used. :-P Might still do something like that.

Thanks lads. Hope it brightens slightly but it's doubtful given I've to do 3 coats in total for the varnish to be effective in protecting the wood. My pal is delighted with it so that's the main thing.

Sadly he throws weekend long parties where everyone mangled on pills and coke and this will probably be destroyed before I get to put the second coat of varnish on. Hopefully not tho.

If he trashes it, that's the epitome of disrespect! He better not let it get trashed!

He won't. His guests might. I made him a little window box for flowers. (He lives in a tiny tiny apartment my boyfriend calls 'the suicide box. Funny cos its true)

Anyways he'd planted some flower seeds and they were beginning to sprout. And then after one of his weekly weekend parties just last week, someone had scooped out all the seedlings. So that'll tell you.

Sorry Dime. I was getting angry at the thought. Wow. Sounds like maybe he's being disrespected. If someone scooped out my seeds I would probably go all Dikembe Mutombo on them. NOT IN MY HOUSE!

I made these charm a few months ago and I haven't put it on a chain yet. I have a lot of that sort of stuff laying about. That sterling bead above the charm I also made and it has also been laying about. Yesterday I spent time stringing some necklaces (using sinew). Tedious little beads! Not sure how I'm going to finish them off yet.

Mookie, why don't you get an etay shop? 'Etsy.com' are they really hard to make though?
You'd sell tons of these!!

Lol, I'm thinking you just reminded me of 'penny blossoms' .. It's a Big Bang theory reference. Dunno if you know it. Best show on tv:)

I just watched some of penny blossoms on youtube. I love the show but I don't follow it completely.

"Who's Radiohead?"

 TEARS!!! Tears of laughter!!

I have an etsy shop. I've done pretty well the last couple of years. I'd like to kick things up a notch, but like Penny, I'm an inbetweener. LOL. I know what I need to do to kick it up a notch, but I'd also like to go outside and play on my days off from my "day job."

I can't really quit my day job for awhile because it's a family business. (nobody gets out unscathed)

:P

capriciousme.etsy.com

My store is pretty sparse right now. Things slowed up in May so now it's summer lull time.

Thanks mook. :)
I like the Stamped Affirmation necklace. I might pick one up if I can decide which word to put on it. ;)
