Yeah, no thanks.
Dave Davies of the Kinks did it.

What I meant was that when you sit down, you rest the split part -- the V -- on your thigh to help prop it up. Because that's how Chad does it.

Is that the dude from Nickelback? I'm not a music elitist but there are some lines you just don't cross.

I'm currently playing a fender jazzmaster and a Gibson SG. I don't have a set pedal order as I'm currently recording and like to move things around a lot. I've got a Boss RE-20 Space Echo, 2 Line 6 DL-4's, an Electro Harmonix HOG, a Boss SL-20 Slicer, a Zvex Fuzz Factory, 3 Big Muffs (Little BM, Pi, Russian), a Rat with the LM308 chip, a Fulltone Fulldrive MOSFET, and a Zvex Ringtone (ring modulator)...ect. Most of which I've had for years. My amp situation is always a little iffy... I used to have an Orange Rockerverb a few years ago that had the most bitchin amp driven fuzzed out distortion ever, but my old band broke up and it was sold to pay rent. I still miss that thing. I'm currently temporarily using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe that I bought for $50... I hate it. I had the chance to pick up a Music Man HD 130 4x10, but didn't pull the trigger and some twat bought it before I could... I'm probably on the market for a Fender Twin, Mesa Lonestar or a 65 Deluxe Reverb (because who wants to haul around a 2 ton Twin?) soon... I just don't want to spend the money. I'm approaching 30 yrs old and I'm no too interested in spending $10,000 on a rig to play a show 50 miles away where I'll get paid $50 to play to a room full of people (best case scenario) who don't give a shit.

I also use a Fender Jazz Bass for my shitty bass demo tracks and have a Wurlitzer 200A that gets plugged into a Roland JC120.

I've had a soundcloud account for a while but never uploaded a thing. Until now.

The guitar was not done in one take. I didn't do the editing either, a buddy did. This is probably my best piece and it's all downhill from here.

i've got a soundcloud as well: http://soundcloud.com/mikefoster

i use it mostly for sharing ideas with band members and other collaborators so much of what is up there is just parts of songs....not much finished stuff.

I'll give it a listen when I get home MF. I love listening to musical ideas, finished songs or not.

*edit* Wanted to add that I listened to some of Strats stuff on the old board and really dug it, so Strat if you're out there...

I have a soundcloud. Mostly just to share stupid shit with my other music friends who do stupid shit. I just record a bunch of crappy covers late at night to kill time. I am a horrible singer but I love doing it. I also have stuff from various bands and recording projects with friends.

This is one of my favorite moments with a band:

Guys, I'm about to sit down with a beer or few  and listen to your muzak. I'll leave some comments both positive and constructive on your pages.

I've only gotten 1 listen from you guys so far lol. I was hoping for a few comments, bad or good.

I haven't listened yet, I'll get around to it though. Promise.

In the meantime; I don't have a perfect understanding of music theory. I have a strong grasp on it though and I like to read up on it from time to time to refresh my memory and glean a few new things. I found this the other day via a guitar forum I read. It's well written and easy to understand.

Guys, I play a ton of acoustic guitar.....but I think its time for me to buy another electric and get back into that realm a little. I'm so torn on what to buy though. So many choices. I basically just want something versatile. I still have a sweet Carvin Legacy 2x12 amp from when I rocked out more in high school and college......but my electric from that era is an Ibanez with a really fast neck that just doesn't match up with who I am as a player anymore.

Should I buy a Tele? That was my first inclination....

Teles are hard to beat for versatility. Plus they fit in so many different settings. Another good choice would be a Gibby 335, you can play anything on those. Strats are super versatile, especially if you go S/S/H. The Godin LGX series is a nice choice if you want something different. Godins are great guitars.

Or.....

If you want versatility, go with a strat. They can do it all.

Nice, hear lots of Satriani and Vai influences. Really like the guitar tome, very etheral.

I love my Tele and feel as though I can cover a lot of ground with it, but it's really up to what feels and sounds right to you. Play a few, see what feels good.
