Sort of. But it's not something to spend too much time worrying about. Notice it, chuckle, and move along. It's not worth dissecting. It's very loose.
Just little plot mirrors, mostly. An identical twin arc happens on Invitation to Love on the same episode that Maddy shows up on Twin Peaks. Leo gets shot in an episode where a gunshot cliffhanger happens on the soap. Things like that. Just a meta way to comment on the reflection of life events in fiction.

Finished the first season last night. Interesting cliffhanger. Lots of death in the finale.

Moving forward, try to think of S2 as two different seasons. I look at the first 10 episodes as "Season 2" and the remainder as "Season 3." Things get... uneven and strange and there are noticeable tonal shifts after S2E10. It's cool and there is a lot of great stuff. But that tends to be the most divisive part of the series. Stay open and receptive to the show and you'll enjoy yourself.

Yes.
Once you've seen it we can talk about the circumstances surrounding all of that. But the short answer is yes.

It's actually in the show right? Not the movie?

My wife couldn't stop laughing. And that's why I married her. Because she
gets the shit that matters.

Just read that Miguel Ferrer (Agent Albert Rosenfield) has passed away at age 61. That super sucks. RIP, Mr. Ferrer.
