At least limit it to 1 cover a show. The last show I saw I got 4 covers (inc Chloe/CoT)

They do go overboard on the covers, especially considering that nowadays they're all boring karaoke versions of classic rock staples (minus the occasional "Sonic Reducer"). I'd welcome more covers if they were still doing things like "Everyday" and "Timeless Melody."

My thoughts also. You can't do 3 covers in the first encore and then not play some Neil. I'd laugh if they broke out Fuckin'Up though.

"Fuckin' Up" is probably my favorite cover they do.

I love it, but probably wouldn't be a casual PJ fan pleaser compared to old mate RITFW.

I dunno why people are complaining, its weird considering some IMO mediocre sets people were praising
LB is an interesting opener, I think it works.
Animal, Why Go, Corduroy, Elderly Woman, some of their best live songs
Deep, Satan's Bed, interesting deep cuts from their first albums.
Army Reserve, 1/2 Full, Swallowed Whole, some more interesting songs that aren't played much (I dont like army reserve much but I thought other people did)
Daughter always great...
Love Eddie on You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
Thumbing My Way is one of my favorites, rarely played
Comfortably Numb....a pretty interesting one to cover, I HATE HATE HATE the song and cover of Mother, so Im happy they are doing a different one.
Sonic Reducer in Encore 1 pretty cool, DTE a classic....
I dunno it seems to me to have an interesting twist tonight, with the rarer cuts being good, and picking the right standards.
Oh wow Smile is another good one...I dunno I REALLY like this setlist

I like this set list. It's a good to see them go offroad with a track selection like this.

That's a solid 4 run closer after serving up so many deep cuts and covers tonight. That'll send the masses home happy.

I think it's just the opening songs, the general pacing of the main set and snoozey first encore that don't work for me.
It's not terrible by any means, it's just the least exciting looking setlist of the tour so far (for my tastes).

It's impossible for me to approach a PJ setlist as a casual fan would, so I won't even try.
Getting to see PJ play 30'ish live songs is the best way you can spend 3 hours in my opinion. Unless they totally fuck every song up, I really don't understand all the bitching and moaning about the setlists. It's awesome that they mix it up so much and I don't think I've ever seen one on paper that I'd have been disappointed in if I was there to see it live.

On the flipside, Counting Crows is a top 5 favorite band of mine and I'm skipping them in September. The last few times, the setlists have been virtually identical. Yawn.
