Like Doug Mientkiewicz winning it in 2004 or something.

So if the Cubs win it all under Theo then he's a Hall of Fame GM/executive, right?
I think his tenure in Boston is incredibly overrated but how could he not get in after that?

I'm pretty sure if the Cubs win the World Series, everyone involved with the team is automatically inducted the next day.

Can we please get rid of the stupid, arbitrary cap on the number of candidates appearing on the ballots? And please, can we make the ballots public? I don't ask much. Thanks.

My concern is that it wouldn't matter if the cap was removed because so many of the voters are only voting for the absolute top candidates and wouldn't add any of the other guys anyway.
Oddly enough, a lot of those guys are probably the same ones who were trying to get Jack Morris in.

I think Biggio is a lock. Piazza will probably be very close.

Biggio should've been a lock last year but for some stupid voters' stupid beliefs that you can't elect some candidates the first time they're eligible (as if there's a specially recognized level of HOFer in Cooperstown).

So he should've been a lock the last 2 years.

Even if some you leave the obvious steroid guys out (Clemens, Bonds, Sosa, McGwire) there should still be more than ten guys going in (Johnson, Pedro, Schilling, Mussina, Smoltz, Biggio, Bagwell, Piazza, Raines, Trammell, Walker, Edgar Martinez) with a few more who at least deserve some consideration (Kent, Sheffield).

Definitely think Raines and E. Martinez should go but probably won't.

I'm not so sure Martinez or Bagwell, but I think you can make a solid case for the others even if I don't agree.
Did you mean Larry Walker?

Yeah.
I'm having a hard time with that one and I'm a Rockies fan. His split number away from CO really bother me. Make your case?

I think today....
Pedro
Randy Johnson
Biggio
maybe Bagwell
get in.
Smoltz will get in but I think it will be a few years. Same with Schilling.
It's disgraceful that Tim Raines isn't in already.
