I watched a movie with him in it this weekend. It was called Zombeavers.
oh, yeah? what's it about?
Well, Bill Burr and this other guy are hauling some sort of nuclear wasted around in their truck when they hit a deer (due to texting and driving. take note, ruddock) and some of the waste falls into a river. The waste sprays all over a beaver den and turns them into zombeavers. From there it's a pretty standard romantic comedy.

General question: Is there any particular thing that you guys find specifically annoying in stand-up?
Example: For me, it's political pandering. Nothing will instantly turn me off like this. I can't stand watching someone in a room they know is full of like-minded people going for easy "I agree!" laughs.

I'm kinda the opposite. Dinosauric, "women are dumb, I hate minorities" shit really loses it for me. I can't stand guys like Jim Norton because of this. And Bill Burr had a moment in one of his last specials where he almost completely lost me (and the crowd) with some "aren't women sluts???" type jokes.

Yes, this will lose me too.

Nate, it feels a little weird agreeing with you twice in one day.

We agree on a lot of stuff. We just really, really disagree on things that are near and dear to both of us, haha.

The whole "black people do this, white people do that" or "men do this, women do that" crap. It's old and tired.
I liked the Bill Burr special in Atlanta. He was definitely not pandering to the audience, although he did kinda sound like an idiot when he accused them of being "gun range only" gun owners. He's obviously never lived in the south.

Yeah, I really dislike that. Unless they take it in a direction that's totally fresh, otherwise it's just the same joke with different words.

There have been a lot of good stand-up specials on Netflix over the past year. But the best one is Christian Finnegan's "The Fun Part." Yes, that used-to-be fatguy from Best Week Ever. I can't believe it myself, but that motherfucker is funny.

New Louis C.K. special available through his site today. Five dollars. I'm downloading it now, will probably watch later tonight. He sent out a really long e-mail about his history with and feelings about small comedy clubs which was nice, too.
