Why do people act like Tom Brady is some kind of martyr as if he's "leaving money on the table" to help the Patriots win.
He's not taking a cent less when he restructures long term. He's among the highest paid players in the league in any year and he's got loads of endorsements. His Wife makes more than most of the high priced players on that team combined.
Every single good QB restructures their deal so the team can spend more in that year.
It's like he's some kind of messiah or something when you read Peter King.
Oh why can't more teams be like the Patriots.... oh ok, so we'll just go pluck the best QB of all time and put him with the best coach... yeah... fuck, here come the Browns.

Stephon Gilmore heading to New England. I like it, I guess. Wonder what the numbers will be like.

Dwayne Allen also to the Patriots is what I'm hearing.

Yeah, he was traded from the Colts for a late round pick. No more Marty, though. He was good for a year, but I guess Bill didn't want to unload the brinks truck for him? Hopefully Gronk can hold up, which is asking a lot. Allen won't be able to fill in like Bennett did.

Not only did the Bears give Glennon big boy money, but hey apparently gave Gilmore an insulting offer and Chicago was his preferred destination.

I don't understand why the Patriots have such a hard-on for acquiring Cooks. Unless Gronk is done their skill player core seems solid. He'd be awesome for them obviously but the compensation (young, proven #1 corner) just seems like too much.

I saw the Butler news before I read about the potential Gilmore signing. They either feel like they can move on from Butler (and get something in return) or they're trying to leverage him into a team-beneficial contract (or playing at all, since he could've held out) by showing him he's expendable.

Methinks it's going to be a tense year around the Washington Professional Football Team:

How can owners not see that they are the problem after so long? I just don't understand...

I don't get it either, Orph. Hogan had a solid year, Mitchell shows promise, and you still have Edelman/Amendola.
I like Butler a lot. But after giving over $14 mill to Gilmore, I don't see how he agrees to anything less. You can't pay 2 guys #1 corner money, can you?

have we found out if there's someone playing the role of Washington's GM and, if so, who?

Yeah their corner depth chart seems much more shaky than what they have at WR. Isn't Logan Ryan almost certainly leaving as well? I get trying to move Butler if you think Gilmore can replace him and he can't be resigned, but it seems like their offense seems in a lot better shape than their defense at this point. Cooks seems like a luxury.

I would say Ryan is just about 100% gone. Rumors are the Steelers will go after him.

I don't care if this frees up the Texans to get Romo. I'm laughing so hard at both the Browns and Texans for this trade.
