Some games are better than others. I can't really tell the difference much on BF1. NBA 2k18 and Horizon are stunning with HDR turned on though.tragabigzanda wrote:What's your experience with gaming? I actually liked Horizon quite a bit more than MGSV so you are in for a treat.tragabigzanda wrote:Good to know! My plan is to beat MGSV, then I was thinking I would try HZD before Far Cry 5 came out.Monkey_Driven wrote:Some games are better than others. I can't really tell the difference much on BF1. For the record, none of the switches I own could handle 4K / HDR so I need to to run the 4K / HDR sources directly to the TV.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Yeah, I did some digging too, and even some of the 4K ones I found only had a speed of about 10 instead of 18, which I wouldn't trust.CopperTom wrote:Some list 4k compatibility, none list HDR. Re: Home Theater Discussion
LV, what kind of internet speed would you need to properly stream 4K content?
I'm finally getting a 4K TV when I come back from my trip in February (moving my current bedroom TV to the living room, and I guess selling off the current living room TV). TV sets are absurdly expensive here due to import taxes so I need to make sure I can support it. Otherwise I just have a very expensive HD TV when I'm not playing 4K blu-rays.
I currently have what's ostensibly a 100MB/s connection, though I guess what I actually get is somewhat lower than that. Is that good enough?

Re: Home Theater Discussion
You should be fine with 100mbps. Netflix recommends at least 25mbps for 4K, so I think you'll be okay. Which TV are you thinking of getting? Or have you not looked yet?

Re: Home Theater Discussion
I just bought the AppleTV 4k because 1) i love that you can finally download apps and 2) it was all they had.
So now i feel like im losing life by not having a 4K tv.

I haven't really looked yet since I won't be buying 'til next year. I want something that's at least as big as my current one, which is 55", and obviously something with good technical specs re: image quality. I did look for the model you posted in another thread and it costs five thousand dollars here.LoathedVermin72 wrote:You should be fine with 100mbps. Just upgraded our Netflix account to 4k. Why did I wait so long?

Yup. They're getting to be pretty affordable, even for an above average set. Problem is there isn't a ton of content in 4k. Especially for live events or television shows.Strat wrote:and i need a 4k tv for that to even be worth a damn obviously.Monkey_Driven wrote:Yup!Strat wrote:I see that i can switch to "Ultra HD" is that "4k" ?
