What? The crowd singing along to a band they love and a song they've loved for decades? Lol. I guess.E.H. Ruddock wrote:I didn't say the song was irritating. I said the crowd singing along to it is. As for recent live versions of Corduroy -- I dunno, I think the back-and-forth between band and audience is pretty powerful, especially with this band. Is it like they used to do it? No -- but who cares?
They did this in 2006 and it just highlighted people leaving and was just overall distracting. Dark moody lightning fits this song and any other song would work better in this scenario! Very odd choiceMatters wrote: At Oakland 2013 they payed it last and the house lights came up.
Who decides when the house lights come up? There might not be a worse song choice in the catalog to be played with the house lights on.
They played it with the house lights up in Ft Worth, too.coptheriotact wrote:They did this in 2006 and it just highlighted people leaving and was just overall distracting. No I definitely hear the similarities there. Why do you ask?wease wrote:You’re one of those that says Given to Fly is nothing like Going to California, aren’t you?Matters wrote:This is a tough question to answer. Probably Carry that Weight
It also has a bit of I’ve Got a Feeling and I Want You with a nice touch of what John referred to as Paul’s “granny shit.”
I haven’t voted yet. 2 isn’t out of the question but neither is 5. I just don’t know with this songtommy wrote:The two of you that voted 3 stars should be ashamed of yourselves.
Seems so bizarre to me for a 12 year old to be that into music like this. My son is 11 and he likes anime and video games. Zero interest in music.epilogue wrote:This was definitely the most important song in the world to twelve year old me.
It's gotten way less relevant over the years. But it's still a banger.
5 stars
