i’m not a fan either
we went to a friend's house for dinner two weekends ago. they are 1st gen Palestinian. I was going on and on about how much i loved the food from that end of the globe, and he and his wife insisted that we come over. part of the dinner (among many traditional palestinian dishes) was homemade hummus.E.H. Was the hummus good? Which other dish impressed you the most?Chris_H_2 wrote:we went to a friend's house for dinner two weekends ago. they are 1st gen Palestinian. my wife's vegetarian, and so mostly everything was vegetarian too. the tabbouleh was unbelievable. so so good. and this thing called maqluba (which was this rice and fried vegetables served upside down) that i could've eaten all day. and they made their own shawarma, which i really want the recipe for.Anders wrote:Was the hummus good? This is true. There are exceptions like Chris H getting some authentic stuff, but it's a bit of a never ending fad in the burbs.E.H. Do you primarily consider hummus a vegetarian option to full meat dinners, and not as a side dish or a dip?Rob wrote:This is true. Personally, I don't care for it. I'll eat it no problem if that's what there is, I'm not picky, but I will always choose the meat option if available.
