I thought we already established it should be Billie Eilish

the thing that really disappoints me is not so much the actual song itself (which is, to be sure, pretty bad), but the fact that there are these fleeting moments where the melody is decent and you think it's going to lead to something good, only to take an abrupt turn into something that's pure dog shit.

yes there are. hence the multiple mentions of pieces of a different song or various vocal melodies.

or did you mean that there turns but we should see them all coming?

Don’t hate this song. Don’t absolutely love it either. Having
said that, two singles sound so much better than LB.

I’ve still got a lot of hope for Gigaton.

Can I just say I find it refreshing that some people here don't like this song? Literally every other place - FB, The Porch (although I can't even post there), and PJ's Reddit love it unconditionally. There's nothing wrong with being hyper-critical about a song from a band that's been around for nearly 30 years and that are all legit rock stars.

I just don't think there are as many parts as some people are saying there are; the vocals change a lot but underneath there's like one riff and two different chord structures, and the drums never change

I barely remember the drums after the Undone 2.0 intro.

'time to jam, guys!' and then a quasi-Ramones wuss track starts playing

and they all do their Ramones/Who impression

and totally lose sight of the fact that they have put a song to print that sounds exactly like it 10 times before

'OK we did it! what a fun track! can't wait for people to hear this!'
Get out of my head!!!

There’s no need for Matt to start this song. Would’ve sounded better to jump in with everyone else.

what does Ole have going for it (besides the solo/call and response outro, both of which are pretty cool) that this doesn't, in your eyes?

I should ask myself the same question. I think of these songs as cut from a reasonably similar cloth, and I like this and don't like Ole.
