1. Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee
2. Wild Pink - Dulling the Horns
3. Charli XCX - Brat
4. Beyonce - Cowboy Carter
5. Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us
6. Kendrick Lamar - GNX
7. Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft
8. Tyler, the Creator - Chromakopia
9. Hurray for the Riff Raff - The Past is Still Alive
10. Clairo - Charm
I don't know if you do this, or anyone else for that matter, but when I rank, it's typically based on the number of listens.

If you also do this, how many times would you say you listened to that Cindy Lee album?
i have it on the background at work a lot (i stream it from youtube because it's not on spotify).
Funny, I watched an essay this weekend where Cindy Lee as a point of reference.

Interesting but he doesn't really make a good case for why it's not an album-album. Based on how the essay was going I thought he would point to something more solid. He seems stuck on his own experience with it.

Absolutely agree on being stuck on his own experience.

Late to the 2024 party... But better late than never.

White Denim's new LP "12"... Only on first spin, but sounds f'n great to my ears.

You guys weren't kidding about the Kim Deal album, it's really good. I was expecting smething more like All Nerve, which I also really liked, but this is reminding me more of The Reminder era Feist.

I liked the singles a lot but the record is a very difficult listen to me. I havent come back since it was released but the whole thing was hard to listen to, very abrasive and repetitive.

I was thinking that i will come back to it soon to see how it feels once the novelty of those singles and my expectations are off.

Agreed. That first single was dope as hell but the entire album is maybe a bit too heavy.
Felt similarly about her first solo record as well. Great single, tough record.

I should have known better. I didn't mind that Father John Misty single and then heard another tune on the radio that I thought was OK so, against my better judgement, snagged his album from this year only for it to turn out to be his usual boring drivel. I really should learn.
