Idk, Darnold is younger. I like to think his path is similar to Bakers? I was really against Tampa bringing Baker in, but then I was all for them keeping him. Above average game managers can win Super Bowls. Look at Dilfer, Flacco, Brad Johnson, etc. I like to think Darnold and Mayfield could do that with the right team. Baker won't until the Bucs get rid of Bowles though, he's not a great head coach.

except the bucs didn't spend high draft capital on someone that they would essentially relegate to the bench for the three to four years after Mayfield's deal to get maximum value out of his contract. if the vikings re-sign darnold to an extension, they'll be up against the expiration of mccarthy's rookie deal without him ever taking meaningful snaps (this doesn't line up as well like the packers had with rodgers essentially leaving three years into jordan love's rookie deal so love could show them enough to extend his contract).

I have watched every game and I don’t know. He doesn’t take the easy short throws that are there very often because he’s always throwing downfield. It’s exciting, but it’s also frustrating. If he was more of a game manager line the guys Ruddo mentioned, I think the Vikings would be the team to beat.
