I'm going to have to tape it as my car crapped out tonight and tomorrow morning is the only time I can get a ride back out to it.

I'm not feeling confident, though. Last week we were complete shit and something about the narrative surrounding this match makes me think we'll lose. I can definitely see Timmy coming back to bite us in the ass after all the disrespect we've given him (the fans more than the club)

Still, as long as Paulinho isn't out there again we have a chance.

It has potential to be a really good match. A point at least would be nice.

I hope last week was an aberration, but we've been looking a bit aimless lately. I think the fact that you guys need the points a lot more than we do might sway the match your way.

indeed.

Spurs looked like they had nothing to play for (typical mid april affair). Gave way too much space and only turned up in the last 20 (where I kept on saying they don't deserve anything).

Phew.

My GF is a huge Spain fan. Being Dutch and German I still rub the last World Cup in sometimes. 8-)

Very true verb. Villa were actually lucky that Benteke didn't play the last World Cup as he would almost definitely got a transfer.

I'd say that Vlaar is too good for them too. Guzan has had a good year too.

In fact, Villa are only 2-3 players from being a reasonable side.

Well considering his age, injury history, scoring output compared to games played and the amount of money premier league teams are pulling in, I think he's right where he needs to be. If he can stay healthy he won't be with Villa much longer.

Noob question. So the UEFA Champions League is a tournament that consist of the top couple teams from the top leagues throughout Europe and they play sporadically during their primary leagues regular season till there is a winner? So there are individual league championships(Premier, La Liga, ect), a European championship that consists of top club teams(UEFA) and a the World Cup which is the best countries? More?

Each country usually has a league system and cup competition. England for example has 100odd Football association teams across 4 leagues, then 2 cup competitions. The winners of the 2 cups plus the top 5 of the premier league go into the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Cup (it used to be called the Cup Winners Cup, now it's more of a second tier Champions League.)

The winners of the Champions League (UEFA-Europe) and the corresponding Champions Leagues around the world play in the Club World Championship (this may have been renamed). This is based on the regions that form up FIFA. Europe, Asia, CONCACAF, Oceania, Africa, Sth America.

That's domestic leagues. For international competitions there is the Region competition (Euro, Asian Cup, Copa America) the winners then play in the Confederates Cup.

Then there is the World Cup.

That's a lot of soccer! :D What league in England is the equivalent to MLS skill wise? Is it kind of like MLS is college basketball and these other top leagues are the NBA? How far would MLS have to progress to ever be invited to one for these big tourneys assuming something like that was ever doable?

I'm not across the MLS but I'd say it'd be about 3rd tier.

Um wow. We took it to Liverpool and they could not get much momentum. Delph had an absolute cracker. Wish we had sealed it with the pass to Benteke but it's so sweet regardless. Arsenal will be a much tougher challenge but hey baby we are in the final.
