I frankly don't understand the hate for Durant. This is how the NBA works now. Lebron went to Miami for some of the same reasons. Going to a team doesn't guarantee anything see Malone, Karl and hundreds of other ring chasers.

Durant went for basketball reasons and likely personal ones. He fits perfectly in Golden State, He's 10 years in to his NBA career so to think OKC was going to somehow get it together and win in the playoffs is deeply flawed logic. Lebron knows he can't do it himself either, in some ways Durant's career mirror's Lebron's as well. So many people go back to Jordan. Well, Jordan couldn't beat the teams he needed to beat in the 80's either until those Bulls teams went and found other stars and quality role players.

Durant went to the team that gave him the best chance to win a title and he was free to do so, or languish forever not winning one so people can laud how wonderful it is to waste one's career doing that. Lebron is probably even now trying to convince his owner to pay the tax and sign another star that they clearly need. Cleveland is one year away from a title and they were close this year, the next best option is probably San Antonio who will probably sign Chris Paul and get better, healthier and younger. The rest of the league, gets a nice vacation after their season is over.

San Antonio has no fucking chance. Chris Paul has never won a damn thing and is an old guy now. It's not happening.

Saying 'thats how the NBA is now' as an excuse for Durant is fine if you're Kevin Durant. It doesn't excuse what is a flawed and overall shit product for me as a fan though. My NBA interest is at an all time low. His bitch ass said in the playoffs if you don't like the blow outs don't watch. Well....bye.

Exactly. As a hardcore fan this season and what I saw last night left a bad taste in my mouth. Durant sat a 1/4 of the season and it still all felt like a waste of time. Not looking forward to the watching the same nonsense for the next few years.

The league survived the early '10s Heat, the late '00s Lakers and Celtics, the early '00s Lakers, '90s Bulls, etc. No one is forcing you guys to watch.

Both of these teams will look different, if not dramatically different, in a year or two due to salary cap/chemistry/injuries. The level of hyperbole acting like this is the first "superteam" ever is bordering on First Take/Sports Radio levels here.

I'm just going to go ahead and treat this as if it is completely unique. Because it is.

I really don't think most of the other teams are weak to average. There are some good teams out there and some great players all over the league. The Warriors are historically great. They skew the perspective.

Who are the good teams? I want to shit all over them.
