What movies are you watching?

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

also, i'm not gay but clooney could probably convince me to at least snuggle

Soderbergh is...something else. I still don't quite know how to characterize him, except to say that his films feel at once effortless, breezy, raw, and perfectly composed. Out of Sight is a lighthearted crime caper with excellent dialogue, and it's just executed so well.

i haven't seen all of soderbergh's stuff but i've generally been a big fan of what i have seen

i really need to read some elmore leonard stuff too

They're a good match. Soderbergh is completely character-driven, while Leonard's work shines because of the dialogue. There's more that I've NOT seen/read from either than that which I have; they've both been very prolific!

yeah, excited to see it for the visuals. i really liked 2001 (fucking gamecocks ruined the song though), and i'm not expecting this to be like it story wise, but i am expecting some similar / equally as good cinematography.
