Soderbergh is...something else. I still don't quite know how to characterize him, except to say that his films feel at once effortless, breezy, raw, and perfectly composed. Out of Sight is a lighthearted crime caper with excellent dialogue, and it's just executed so well.

i haven't seen all of soderbergh's stuff but i've generally been a big fan of what i have seen

i really need to read some elmore leonard stuff too

They're a good match. Soderbergh is completely character-driven, while Leonard's work shines because of the dialogue. There's more that I've NOT seen/read from either than that which I have; they've both been very prolific!

i would never...what other leonard work do you think soderbergh could deftly bring to tbe big screen?

The visuals throughout the movie are excellent. I didn't mind the plot until the 3rd act. It was a little weak compared to the rest of the story, but overall enjoyable.
