Hell, even GS did it right- drafted and developed 3 great players, then signed a missing piece free agent to get (back) over the top.

I don't give a shit about super teams but saying Jordan didn't beat good teams is just silly considering the quality of the West back then. We haven't even talked about the Run TMC Warriors.

I'm not a LeBron hater, I'd say he's the third best NBA player ever behind MJ and Kareem, but it's hard to argue that he gets super passive at times and hasn't developed a good go-to endgame post game.

Lol. 'signed a missing piece free agent' is a lot different than getting arguably the second or third best player in the NBA.

No other team had a chance this year. Zero. It was obvious after quarter one of the finals how pointless it all was. The 96 Bulls were that way but the Kemp/Payton Sonic's still took two games off of them in the Finals. The Bulls were actually fairly vulnerable in those two Jazz finals match ups, the competition just didn't step up.

What other super team had not a single team that could compete with them? I can't think of any in the last 25 years. Maybe some of you old dusty bastards can enlighten me on the 70s and 80s?

It is crazy how LeBron has not developed any post game at all given his size advantage over almost everyone that guards him.

But the West Teams Lebron has had to face are all significantly better, with the Dallas squad being the possible exception.

I don't think you're giving Hakeem enough credit. He had an incredible 3 year run.

He was basically unstoppable those two championship years. The only player to win season MVP, Finals MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in 1994, then averaged 33 points, 10+ rebounds and ~3 blocks in the 1995 playoffs and totally dominated The Admiral and Shaq in the process.

Yeah Dream destroyed young Shaq. It was awesome.

I agree. I love Hakeem and think it's criminal how little he gets mentioned these days. But those teams he was on were not spectacular outside of him. He was unstoppable for awhile there.. but the Jordan teams would have beat them probably. And so would the recent spurs. the recent warriors. The 90s west was very deep for A- teams. The teams Lebron has had to face in the finals (again, mavs excluded) are A, A+ level.

(for reference, id call the 04 Pistons a B level team)

Yeah, even if the C's draft Jackson and add Butler via trade and Hayward via free agency, I think that makes Cleveland very beatable, but obviously not enough to get by the top 2-3 teams in the West.

IT isn't worth a max contract, so I would let him walk after next year and continue to make all of those first round picks they have starting this year through the next few years.
