I really have no idea if Fultz is any good or not. If he really is a transformational player passing on him would be idiotic especially if they do it because of IT. I love the guy but a 5'9'' 30 year old shouldn't get a max contract. Really he should get 15 mil a year and come off the bench. If someone wants to give him more let him go and you'll never regret it. I guess if all these guys are basically equal then yeah you take the bigger more athletic player and Jackson is the guy. If you can sucker a couple extra picks and get the guy you want anyways go for it. I don't think Butler is available...George wants to go somewhere else...if Hayward was single I'd worry about Miami but I have a feeling if he leaves Utah, Boston is the destination. It would be pretty amazing if Boston got two above average free agents to sign with them two summers in a row.

It all depends on how they rank Jackson and Fultz. If they think they are equal you do the deal. We'll see if actually happens or if it is a smokescreen for something else.

Yeah I barely watch college basketball anymore I won't even pretend to know who is better than who.

Yeah, that may be their thinking too. I don't think the Nets are going to be as bad next year. Maybe this a way to hedge their bets for a top 3 pick next year too.

Feels like thats the plan. They want a longer window than the last championship teams run.

I was liking this deal more when Boston was (reported) getting the No. 3 pick and two future No. 1s. Now it looks like No. 3 and a future No. 1, but I guess they don't love Fultz enough or think he's a game changer and their guy, either Jackson or Tatum, suffices.

I'm still unclear on the pick protections....I've seen the Laker pick is protected 2-5 and another source says the Celtics only get the pick if it falls in the 2-5 range...if not they get the Sac pick the following year and I don't see anything on what the protections are for that pick.....I would think the Sac pick would be more valuable since they will always suck and the Lakers could get better.

Involving the sac pick just brings the odds of them getting a prime pick from 98 to 99%.

I don't believe the Sac pick is protected. Either way, they are essentially trading the first pick for the third pick and a top ten pick either next year or in 2019.

Not much value difference between 1-3. I wonder why philly loves fultz so much.

Probably because they've only drafted wings and big dudes the last few years and he's the best point guard on the board. I don't think they are giving up too much to move up either. It's not like they won't have their own top ten pick next year.

They should have locked up Ish Smith when they had the chance.
