No, no, I get it. I'm the first person posting here who said we were never getting those books. But the actual marketing campaign fucking with people? That's messed up.

We live in a messed up world, man.
I’m just happy to get Ser Duncan in a show; I loved the novellas

The unfinished books are:
The Winds of Winter
A Dream of Spring

I still haven't read them ( please don't tell Nora).

I actually like that it seems tonally different from GOT and HOTD. There were funny moments in GOT (HOTD, on the other hand, is too dour throughout), but there certainly seem to be straight-up comic characters here, and I'm here for it. I want the flavor to be different than the other shows. I haven't read the novellas so I don't know if this is reflective of the source material.

The novellas are lighter and smaller in scale. The dealings of higher lords comes about, but isn’t always the focus of his stories

Very good first episode; feels like this is going to be a great ensemble. Any show that can pull off sharting gets a thumbs up from me.
I am already fantasizing about a season 12 that depicts the Summerhall tragedy. Alas, GRRM is currently in a hot tub with seven prostitutes lighting money from his book advance on fire to ignite his cigars instead of writing.
