That’s a good question

If I’m standing beside Luke and he’s talking to force ghost Obi-Wan
Can I see him too..
doubtful
Let's see, Yoda and Luke both see Obi-Wan ... mass hallucination?

We THINK Leia sees the ghosts at the end of RotJ, but maybe not.

Really? That has honestly never crossed my mind. We see Luke kinda respond to them, but I’ve never considered that Leia saw them, as well.

I've never really thought that either. But given her Force powers, it's not off the table.

It's hard to hold all this in your head.

I'm pretty sure there's some canon evidence that supports the idea that Force Ghosts only appear to people with whom they share a real life connection. So they aren't hallucinations but no one besides Luke can see them.

Which is why Rey only sees Luke & Leia at the end of Skywalker. She didn't know Yoda, Obi Wan or Anakin. So they can't appear to her.

Sounds awfully convenient.

I mean the whole thing was made up as George went along. He can do whatever he wants.

Oh, I'm sure canon is that ghost are real, but I want to imagine a world where the Jedi are actually all just schizophrenic.

That’s not really true
Yoda and qui gon Appear to Ezra in rebels He may have heard of them but has no connection to them

I think force ghosts can appear to whoever they want to
I wouldn’t say there’s any hard and fast rules about this

If the force ghosts are a hallucination, does that mean all 9 movies happen in the heads of crazy Jedi? Did Luke steal a starship and kill a giant base full of people?

Are you asking if all the movies are fictional and if millions of grown-ass people around the world are wasting their lives overthinking them?

No, I'm adding an extra way for grown-ass people to start thinking about them.

Luke convincingly projected his image across the galaxy and Rey pulled down a ship from the air earlier in the trilogy. No one should be impressed by either lifting the X Wing out of the water.

Agree

So why the pointless twitter rant about luke doing it
Because it is a pointless scene.
The scene is a triumph for both of them. They have overcome, and Luke places his full faith in Rey. It’s a gesture for him and for her, for their history together, and his. It’s a sensei preparing his star pupil for her most crucial battle.
And on a practical level... SHE NEEDS A SHIP!

So thematically, not pointless. Plotwise, not pointless. And practically... you get it.
Aren't Tie's and x-wings short range fighters? How the hell were they flying them from one end of the galaxy to the other? For some reason - this bugged me
