Got a pair of wireless AKG's recently, everything sounds better nowPJMosquito wrote:I just bought Bose, noise-canceling headphones, and Binaural has absolutely never sounded better.

I only mostly hate FD now as opposed to totally hating it before the demo. My gut is telling me everything you said is what is what this album may be. Wieners crossed.PJMosquito wrote:I just bought Bose, noise-canceling headphones, and Binaural has absolutely never sounded better.
A thought about Backspacer: By the sound of it, Lightning Bolt is going to be a "stormy" album, with flashes of post-Riot Act Pearl Jam. It makes me think "Binaural-era," experimental PJ, meets Backspacer with a hint of No Code.
If this is true, this may end up being one of my favorite PJ albums. I love "Mind Your Manners," "Lightning Bolt," and "Future Days."
It's amazing what a decent pair of headphones can do for an album. The "return to form" I'm looking for in PJ is something that I can listen to on headphones and discover more layers and details. I really didn't find much of that on the last 2-3 albums. Riot Act did sound fantastic though.Lounge Lizard wrote:Got a pair of wireless AKG's recently, everything sounds better nowPJMosquito wrote:I just bought Bose, noise-canceling headphones, and Binaural has absolutely never sounded better.

I'm not a fan of noise cancelers, but I'm definitely a fan of talking about awesome headphones.PJMosquito wrote:I just bought Bose, noise-canceling headphones, and Binaural has absolutely never sounded better.

It might make more sense, whereas right now, it seems out-of-context.

I just listened to Backspacer as well, and I enjoyed it just as much as Binaural, strangely enough.HardTI wrote:It's amazing what a decent pair of headphones can do for an album. I know. My post was more about Lightning Bolt than the headphones. So, I decided to post it here.cutuphalfdead wrote:

That's cool. I was just showing you the thread in case you wanted to talk more about your new toy.PJMosquito wrote:I know. My post was more about Lightning Bolt than the headphones. So, I decided to post it here.cutuphalfdead wrote:

It really does. I personally think it's a solid album. I truthfully don't get the hate.harmless wrote:Backspacer sounds great in headphones.

A nice pair of headphones is a worthwhile investment. Lightning Bolt doesn't change that.harmless wrote:Part of me wants a great pair of headphones to listen to the new album with, but I also think I don't want to bother spending the money if it's crap.
I can't criticise Backspacer enough. But that doesn't mean I don't like it to an extent. I think most people just think it's PJ in their sleep. I think so too.PJMosquito wrote:It really does. You're probably right.cutuphalfdead wrote:A nice pair of headphones is a worthwhile investment. Lightning Bolt doesn't change that.harmless wrote:Part of me wants a great pair of headphones to listen to the new album with, but I also think I don't want to bother spending the money if it's crap.
It's worth it for all music, not just PJ. I highly recommend buying a pair.harmless wrote:Part of me wants a great pair of headphones to listen to the new album with, but I also think I don't want to bother spending the money if it's crap.
