How many of you knew or remembered Diego Luna was in Y Tu Mamá También? An all time classic beautiful piece of cinema
I didn’t until a pal pointed it out.
Seriously formative and important movie for all of us of a certain age
He was the other guy. While we all had our weeping eyes on Gael.
God bless us all.

Anyways. Here it is
Gonna be a long night waiting up for this.
Take us home Rogue One

Welcome back.

Been sick so only had enough in the tank for one episode tonight. It had a real Last Jedi tone in terms of humor in all the Andor-centric scenes. The Empire baddies at the table scenes had some horrendous acting. Just slightly less distracting than the Asian accents in Phantom Menace. Mon Mothma’s scenes are somehow what I’m most drawn to. Of course, I quite enjoy Downton Abbey and Bridgerton so that checks out.

Episode 1 was a B-.

Nicholas Britell not doing the music this season is a giant red alert.

Episode 1 “one year later”

Good to see Krennick and Dedra

A set up first episode similar to season 1.

There’s three episodes up.

I’m halfway through the first and this is simply gorgeous

All done. Episode 3 was strong and DJ Boner Droid made me forget about the new composer for a while. Good stuff.

Other than one dicey Volume scene in episode 1 and that Phantom Menace-esque, bad CGI shot of Tay’s taxi in episode 3, all three episodes looked gorgeous.

Episode 2 “Sagrona Teema"

The tension is building looking forward to episode 3 bringing it home

The first two episodes have been a bit corny in comparison to season 1.

The group that kidnapped Cassian in particular

Emotional after that. That last one went deep and was a hard watch but the only comfort is they’ll get their revenge and win in the end.

Was beautiful to watch, but the story arc that involved Andor was a little plodding. That whole "kidnapping" of Cassian was just weird.

How important is a rewatch of Season 1 before starting this?

I think the point will end up being Cassian needs to find a way to band groups like that together instead of abandoning them. He failed as a leader there.

I have two episodes left of my Season 1 rewatch. The prison break episode is pure gold.

That being said, there is no way I will be able to keep up with this release schedule. May need to leave this thread for awhile.

Andy Greenwald wrote:One of the things that I think we have to cop to, that we love the show for, is that, as people who spent a worrying amount of their 30s and 40s parsing the tea leaves of Thunderbolts, we want a strong, confident, and smart, artistic person like Tony to almost retcon our childhoods into being worth it. All the energy we poured into Star Wars in the sandbox and weirdly have continued to, this show lifts up and dignifies our memories and all of the investment we made in this by saying "actually, there is more there. actually, it was a load-bearing dream."

This show really does make all of Star Wars--what came before and what's still to come--better.
