Belated response, but this is correct - legs 1 and 2 were entirely independent of one another.wilkins wrote:I'm pretty sure you could rank separate legs 1 and 2, mutually exclusive...and I don't see the issue with having that option if you're willing to travel and take the chance.cutuphalfdead wrote:No, they're not separate. When ranking your shows the entire tour was done all together. bwhahahahhahahahahha
this fan club is so fucking stupid
why should someone get 2 hot shows (say LA and NYC) while 2 other people (one in LA and one in NYC) got shut out for both?
stupid. stupid. stupid.

Simple as that. And choosing winners for show 1 before show 2 make sense too.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Am I wrong in the simple understanding of this system? Why do people think it is weighted or favors low 10C numbers?

Not really if someone's #2 choice for night one eliminates their #1 choice for night two, which is what appears might have happened. That's not what the club said would happen.wilkins wrote:Simple as that. And choosing winners for show 1 before show 2 make sense too.E.H. They should have gone in order of preference, not chronological order of shows. That is, process everyone's #1 picks first, then everyone's #2 picks, then #3, etc... Then no one would have their #2 choice knock out their #1.broken iris wrote:Not really if someone's #2 choice for night one eliminates their #1 choice for night two, which is what appears might have happened. In theory if you still got one of the nights does it matter? This part seems kind of nit picking, but I understand the questions. I don't think this the biggest problem unless you got shutout because of it.glebe wrote:They should have gone in order of preference, not chronological order of shows. You know who I feel bad for? All the people at the shows who aren't 10C members. Because you know the place will be littered with b-holes that will be saying "normally I wouldn't sit this high up, I have a low fan club number. But they changed the system. I should really be down there.

Im not sure about that. I had Brooklyn night 1 as second choice and night 2 as first choice. I got night 2.broken iris wrote:Not really if someone's #2 choice for night one eliminates their #1 choice for night two, which is what appears might have happened. I got Phoenix GA tickets. That was my second choice, after Phoenix reserved.
This means there were more people requesting Phoenix reserved tickets with their #1 choice than they had available. That frankly stuns me. I know it's a big city, plus you get draw from the rest of the state and maybe around the region, but ... wow.
Wonder if this thing will actually sell out.

Valid points. It's just someone's odds of going to one show with one choice is lower than someone going to one show with five choices.Birds in Hell wrote:What if people have no choice but to travel, though? They don't play everyone's hometown. I think stacking the deck in favour of people who only want one show ends up creating more problems than it solves.patrick wrote:I think that's the problem, especially for those who want or can only attend their hometown show.Birds in Hell wrote:There's no weighting, it's random selection.patrick wrote:I'm curious if and how much picks are weighted so that if someone only picks one show as their first pick vs. someone who picks the same show as their first pick but also puts in for multiple shows.
Apart from people not understanding how it works, I think the current system is actually pretty good (so long as you accept that they're aiming to spread the distribution of tickets around as much as possible.)

Re: Fall 2013 North American Tour
Or it means they distributed all the GA tickets first. They had more GA tickets available than people who chose Phoenix GA tix #1 and you won the lottery for people who had it at #2. After GA was distributed then they moved onto reserved. You already had GA tix so you were disqualified from the reserved lottery.mray10 wrote:I got Phoenix GA tickets. This has to be this way. All the people who lost Phx reserved had Phx GA as a choice too. From both here and on the Pit.glebe wrote:Or it means they distributed all the GA tickets first. I guess I can understand both perspectives, but you're only allowed one show of duplicates, so maybe the see it as priority for that doesn't matter.jdopj wrote:In theory if you still got one of the nights does it matter? Plus both my friend and I had Phx Res as our 2nd choice. I had Phx GA 4th. He didn't have GA as a choice. He got his Res., I didn't.jdopj wrote:This has to be this way. As some here have speculated, I think the aging fan base has a lot to do with it, but still very hard to figure it all out.
I got Oakland reserved even though it was my second choice, which really surprised and pleased me. [Got Spokane GA as first choice]
Didn't think there was any way there would be reserved seating for Oak left over after first round because only show in Bay Area.
But as many others have noted, I mainly just want to be in the building.

Kind of wondering if PHX is actually a weak show and they didn't want the 10c only floor to be empty so they filled as many GA as possible and than filled Reserve.

Yeah, what happens when the 10C only GA section doesn't sell out...?jdopj wrote:Kind of wondering if PHX is actually a weak show and they didn't want the 10c only floor to be empty so they filled as many GA as possible and than filled Reserve.
