Oh they left some trash behind. I guess their point is completely invalid.

This is the kind of thinking about each other that has led to the mess we're in. Anything to make ourselves look better than the "other" in order to completely dismiss their message. Both sides are equally guilty of it too.

It just feels like any "message" to Trump is going to fall on deaf ears, no matter what it is.

I think the notion that a protest of millions of people can or should be whittled down into a specific, clear and concise objective is kind of besides the point. Millions of individuals participated in an act that got a ton of publicity that drew attention to the fact that the incoming president has one of the weakest and fraught coalitions of any president in modern history. Tons of people made connections that could lead to further action down the line, whether that's pressure on local, state or national politicians. There's really no knowing what a protest against a newly-elected president that far outstripped his own inauguration will lead to.

I agree that nothing Trump saw on TV yesterday would change his mind, but not doing something because Trump is too dense or narcissistic to acknowledge or understand it is a recipe for disaster and apathy.
