Compression socks! Holy shit, why didn't I ever try these before? My plantar fascia was mitigated. On a he downside, putting them on adds 10 minutes to my workout time.

Ran my first race since May of '15 yesterday. It was 4 miler. Nothing big. But I'd been really cutting back the last three/four weeks. And last week I didn't run at all because of a tweak in my knee that I was worried about.

Anyway, ran a 7:58 pace. Not great, but better than I'd expected. Hopefully, I can keep working and run a great 1/2 marathon in May.

If 7:58 is not a good pace then I must be a turtle

Ha, I was thinking the same thing. If I ran at 180 I'd probably mess up my knees for life. I'm 6'0" and around 162-165.
:?
Don't worry Ani, you still look pretty good from here

~ 9 miles on South Mountain yesterday after work. Lost some fitness after a medical issue, then the flu. Felt slow, but solid enough. Had secretly hoped to do the Bataan Death March this year, but I'll have to skip it again. :?

Solid weekend.

10 yesterday in 72 minutes on the canal. Left a little late and it was already 85 when I got back.

7.5 on my fav trail this morning. Felt great and finished in 63 minutes. Footwork on the downs was dialed in and I got that floating "zen-like" feeling on the backside of the mountain. Passed a couple of young runners with about 2 miles left and they tried to hang with me, but I pushed it and they dropped on one of the uphills. Probably the best run I've had in 3 or 4 months.

10-mile canal run yesterday in 74 minutes. Felt really shitty. It was 85+ degrees when I started and I just felt sloppy and heavy. Pretty miserable, but I'm pretty happy to have strung 3 runs in a row after losing so much fitness. It's supposed to cool down next week.

Probably gonna reserve a night at the North Rim this week and plan a casual rim to rim GC run for the early summer.

I ran 3.5 on the treadmill yesterday

Turns out my groin/psoas injury felt pretty great. It wasn't until yoga after that it hurt like an SOB. Suppose i give up yoga and just start running again.

My wife recently gave up yoga because her hip kept getting misaligned somehow. So she took up running for the first time in her life. Ha!

Tempo run. 5 miles in 32 minutes. Pushed the 6-minute miles as far as I could, but broke at about 3.9 miles and suffered to 5 miles.

Nice weekend. 13.1 miles in 93 minutes on Saturday.

6 x 6-minute half miles with 3 minutes rest (speed work) and a 40-minute upper body workout on Sunday. I can barely lift my arms today. Fuck weights.

First run of the season, because I can't really run all year like some of you, and I think it was ok. About 5.6km in just under 40 minutes. It was made a lot more difficult by some long patches of slush and crunchy snow, so I figure I would easily have saved another 5 min. if not for that.

i do my cardio at the gym but yesterday it was borderline 70 here so i figured id go to the local highschool track. apparently they had practice and i didnt feel like backtracking to planet fitness

ended up parking at the shopping center and headed out about 1.7 miles and then back. just about 35 minutes which probably could have been a little less but i had my app on pause for a bit

20 miles in 2:28 yesterday. Solid run with an even split.

10 miles in 76 minutes this morning on really tired legs.

Finished the 10K in 45:25, so my pace was about 7:20/mile. Was suffering the entire second half, but my split was almost perfectly even, so I was happy about that. I want to do another 10K in a couple months and get under 7:00/mile.
