Perhaps Rian will have origins of the force, or of the Jedi, while the GOT guys will do some massive war in the old republic.

They did say they asked to make stories for a very particular period.
Could be a good bet they’re doing knights of the old republic.

As to Rians comments, I’m already seeing haters saying why is he even making a Star Wars if it’s only going to have elements of Star Wars, why doesn’t he just go off and make a dumb Kurosawa wank fest set in space. Etc

I assumed she was a Kenobi, and I honestly never even anticipated that her parents would be no one. Once that happened and the shock of it dissipated I can't imagine a better answer

I totally agree. But I'm abouty 87% certain that JJ is gonna retcon that answer. I genuinely hope I'm wrong. But I really think it's coming.

that would be a huge let down for me. I hope JJ has the balls to move forward. It would be like you partner contradicting you in front of the children. All respect is lost

I’m almost certain JJ is gonna give her parents. SHell find out who they were or maybe even get to meet them.

i dont think he will retcon it. JJ has said he wished he got to direct TLJ after he read Rian’s script. nor would lucasfilm rebuke the story of the architect of the next phase.

If WB owned the rights to star wars than yes, absolutely it would change
