Future Days is the first Pearl Jam album song I've ever listened to and had the immediate reaction of 'that sucked'.

Hey, guy.

Where does pearl jam sit with you on a personal level these days? Im not sure I've ever read much about your distaste or love for said band....
hey, strat. i took a little break from the board, so i haven't posted either way. i came back to get in on the arctic monkeys discussion in the other bands thread and just checked in here. aside from 30 people in germany, no one has heard it, yet the entire pit crew is in love with it and the rm faction is already disappointed. i don't really get it.

as for my take on said band, i am still married to them. we're both a little older and don't fuck as frequently as we once did, but our rendezvous in london and, to a lesser extent, wrigley this summer gave me a boner long enough to consider calling my doctor. i'm looking forward to lightning bolt and have a ticket to seattle if i want it.

i know you felt burned by the phone-in job in missoula, but i think you're in for a pj renaissance with this new album and a west coast show. also, ap for the record this year!

Or if you want to murder Inside Job. Once you hear that through headphones it will be dead to you. Butchers the ever loving gobstopper right out of that piece. Talk about ruining potential, along with those dead ass lyrics. The production makes them sound worse somehow

Getaway sounds like rhythmic things that butt up against each other in a cool kind of way. :luv:

Man, I love Inside Job. I guess I'm in the minority .

I have mixed feelings about Inside Job. When I first heard it, I felt that it was a kind of homage to MLB - mainly to Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns. It was great to hear live, but the song just didn't have real staying power, i.e. it's boring after so many listens because it doesn't go anywhere.

It just adds to the disappointment that was the Avocado album which had the potential to be a defining and epic album, but was mostly just a mish mash of badly produced duds.

If Ed asked me what I thought about the song I would give him my honest opinion in a non hostile way. Why, would you just kiss his ass and tell him how great it is even though he could barely play the chords live and BOB shit all over an already lame song?

Very politely I'd let him know that it is not up to his standard.

Never saw it myself. Sporty. Baby & Scary for me.

Posh looked/looks like some kind of mathematical creature composed of acute angles.

I listened to Future Days once - I'm trying to be better this time about not listening before I have liner notes in my hand. It seemed alright. I'm a fan of Just Breathe/Unthought Known, so I don't see myself hating this. But like those songs (and others from Backspace), I'm worried this new album has a bunch of songs which are touch and go on skipping when they come up in a random playlist.
