He did but he also had no intention of directing a Star Wars film again. What else was he supposed to say? But even if he really did mean it, that doesn't mean he wouldn't have made changes to the script and done things his way. I truly believe JJ was setting up a known bloodline/lineage for Rey and Rian changed that. But because of the way it plays out in TLJ, it's still possible for JJ to undo what Rian did and get back to his original idea. I hope he doesn't, because I love what Rian gave us. But I will actually be shocked if JJ doesn't retcon it in 9. I'm almost confident enough to bet actual money on it.

Me too. I love where Rey is at in TLJ and I think Rian absolutely nailed the "answer" to that question. There are certainly ways to retcon it that could be satisfying and do minimal damage to TLJ. Kylo was being manipulative, etc. But I hope we just leave it alone and move on. Rey being "no one" is really powerful and interesting, to me.

Just finished the doc.
It was really nice, it helps to understand the scope of the movie. They really went for it...all the real locations, all the sets, the puppets...its so nice to see they went that way specially in these cgi chroma days.

Some thoughts:

- Its kinda sad they built and did all those marvelous costumes and characters for the casino scene. Most of the puppets looked cgi to me at the time and the scene sucks.
- I love Rian´s approach in set. He seems such a good humored, hard working guy.
- Daisy and Mark really stand out. They both did an amazing job. Driver too.
- Luke shouldt be dead. Damn, they need to get him in Ep9.

Im so fucking stoked with Ep 9. They begin to film this year? bring it.

Oh and the Yoda scenes with Oz?

There is so much room for Luke to return for 9. He needs to. With the death of Leia/carrie....we need Luke.

The poll is a bit weird for me, because I think the movie is entertaining, but I like ROTS better, which seems to be the bottom choice.
