I think he probably wasn’t happy with the changes made in TLJ, which was not what had been sketched out from the start, because Lucasfilm/Disney gave the movie directors final word.

But I do think that JJ then used ideas both from what he had originally thought of with TFA, and perfectly used the best of TLJ, to make TROS.

I’ll try find the precise date but JJ s script was Finalised the same day TLJ finished principle photography. An updated version was then in pllay the week TLJ hit theatres.
This is in the art of ros book.

The productions to date have always had to overlap and have to be locked Down
Months or even years out so all the various production teams know what they’re doing

You’re all goin on like Rian blindsided jj who didn’t know how to respond

JJ was an eXecutive producer on tlj. He knew exactly what it wass

Part of it is visible in the movies themselves, and part of it can be read between the lines in various interviews.

That sounds like changing a plan he had all along. I'm sure there were certain story beats in the original outline that made the final film, but so many moments in Rise feel rushed or unearned because of the disjointed nature of the storytelling.

I thought we were addressing your claim that the TFA poster predicted the end of TROS.

Rise felt like a whole new movie and story unrelated to the precious two in many ways.

FELT like.

I had fun watching it. No doubt. But holy hell I truly can’t believe they went that route. Bringing palpatine back in the opening crawl.

This should have been done at the start of the trilogy IMO. Why they wasted two movies on Snoke is beyond me.

It was done in episode 1

Hes also in episodes 2 3 4 5 6 7 aand 8

Maybe you missed em
I wasn't talking about anything except the latest trilogy. But yeah, I might have missed him because it's not like I have time to watch these movies a million times and obsess over every little detail.

Episode 9 is like a Sonic game. It's enjoyable and it has a conclusion, but when Robotnik and the Death Egg have come back once, you know it's gonna keep happening.

I’m with you. TFA and TLJ feel like a good natural flow.
Rise is so jarring. It’s all over the place. A disappointing ending to the saga.
Super fun but empty really.
TLJs ending feels like a much more natural ending and leaves the door open in a classy
Truly satisfying way.

Rise is just too hectic and directionless. Reading the the art of and the sheer amount of changes and terrio unable to just commit to one idea and much worse than that,
JJ just looking for the coolest looking thing rather than taking care of the story.
They had too many ideas by far. And it shows.

The dropped scenes were even more confused and unnecessary except for kylo going to Coruscant to find the wayfinder in the sith temple under the Jedi temple. And
Coruscant is all deserted and in ruin.
That’s just one of a number of awesome ideas were also dropped or changed into what we got

Wait. Did dime say that the Emperor was in TFA and TLJ? Also, saying he was in ANH is a stretch.

He’s mentioned even in the ones he’s not physically in but and plays a significant motivational role in those. A new hope and TFA TLJ especially

Tell me more about the significant motivational role that the Emperor plays in ANH and TLJ.

And TFA.

I can maaaayyyyyyybe see it in the first film. Maybe from a certain point of view, but he's only mentioned one time and Tarkin is far and away the bad guy with Vader being his henchman.

The newer films, nah. He's not mentioned and there's nothing to even suggest he's behind anything that goes down in those. It's all Snoke then Ren.

Looks like he says "Any Jedi." I question if you could call that "significant motivation."

That vision included words from Vader, Obi-Wan, and Yoda too, more significant, I might add. Two didn't come back and the one who did never met Rey.

Then where was Obi-Wan? He seems to have said a whole lot more than Palpatine.
