PS I don't usually fawn over movie stars or anything like that but Faye Dunaway was fucking stunning in Chinatown.

"The Witch"

Not bad, but not really the second coming of traditional horror films (vs. torture porn) as some have said because it drags a bit in the middle and the father's dialog is murky and rambling... though the ending was great.

The scene with the Witch in the red cloak and the goat's first words were excellent.

What I wasn't sure about was if the father had 'relations' with the Witch as the son had.

Monsters was pretty good, but I could've done without the

fargo and no country are still my favorites...a serious man is definitely top 5, but my 3-5 are kind of up in the air

I wish there were more Coens films on Netflix. Id gladly pay a little bit more per month if they'd start carrying more of the good stuff.

Also, Kaius, lots of Coen stuff (but not all of it) showed up on Amazon Prime last month, so they may have a deal with them.

they periodically have them on there...i know fargo, intolerable cruelty, big lebowski, ladykillers and maybe one or two others have been on there over the last 6 months

i think barton fink was on there last year

has it been lots? i know i saw fargo, hudsucker proxy, and blood simple but i can't remember any others

also, big lebowski is not top tier coens

I'm not as deep into the Coen filmography as I'd like to be, but TBL has always held a special spot for me. It's so textually rich, it's hilarious from start to finish, and I think I watched it for the first time at just the right time. I think some of their other characters are better written, some of their stories have more of an intimate or epic feel, and they've gotten better performances out of some actors, but I'll never back down from TBL.

i had a weird experience with it...it actually took me a few viewings to really appreciate what was going on

don't get me wrong, i think it's great, but it's just a tad overrated for me...i can clearly see the mass appeal though

10 Cloverfield Lane was okay, except the ending was kinda bleh.

As far as bowling movies from the 90s go, Kingpin is better.

True facts: the Coen bros. best movies are in fact their comedies, and their best movie is by far Big Lebowski
