Could this be the best record ever by a band that's been around for more than thirty years?

But "Jam" is literally in their name!

Howdy lads and ladies,

Can anyone share a link with me? I listened to a bit of the cargo pocket leak and the baby leak but decided to hold off on the rest till now, thanks in advance!

My 9 year old son's notes after we went to the cinema release. He's been drumming for 3 years, loves RHCP, Soundgarden and QOTSA, been lukewarm on PJ but really loved the experience. Sound quality was pretty awful, but he enjoyed a few Matt Cameron moments on the record, especially Dark Matter and the end of WFS.

Scared of Fear: 8/10
React, Respond: 5/10 (Eddie sounds bizarre in the chorus, bass is cool though)
Wreckage: 9/10
Dark Matter: 9/10
Won't Tell: 10/10
Upper Hand: 9/10 (The intro is amazing)
Waiting for Stevie: 7/10
Running: 8/10
Something Special: 8/10
Got to Give: 7/10
Setting Sun: 7/10

Not prepared to say where it sits at this early stage, but easily one of their most consistent albums in years

So iTunes won’t let you buy the album or even songs off it. Despite allowing you but DM the single.

You have to sign up to their Apple Music service for €10.99 a month

Fuck that noise. Not doing that.

I’m going to catch heat for this but I feel like this record could really use Never Destination right between Upper Hand and Waiting for Stevie. There’s a ton of similarly mid tempo songs throughout the album. While Running is a good up temp album track, I just think something along those lines would’ve given the listener a less monotonous mid tempo journey.

It’s a minor gripe.
Keep Never Destination out of this wonderful album, please.

Thanks.

My initial thought was “that can’t be right”. Then I remembered that every company in the world now wants to force you to subscribe to their crap. And Apple is at the top of that list. Maybe it will change once it releases.

As of right now, Wreckage is my favorite.

Alright, listening to Scared of Fear and... Trag has a point about the drum sound.

God damn it. I like the song aside from the toy drums.

Who are they up against in this category?

I haven't even stopped to hink about it, but when we talk about 'best record ever' we have to be careful.

Not feeling this one, team. More plays needed though.
