I OK this one as self-harm to frame the Jedi.Anders wrote:

And in this one, Yoda is catching his lightning or blocking it. It's not actively hitting him in the face as he shoots it.Anders wrote:
This is edited weird, so I had to watch it on Disney+. He's shooting at Rey, and she pushes some back and it hits him in the face, starts peeling off his skin, and in stead of, "oh, ow that hurt, let me pause and try aiming lower." He just keeps generating the lightning right back into his own face.Anders wrote:
Actually, it worked against Yoda. He got thrown back, but Yoda lost the battle at that point.Anders wrote:In every single one he goes for the ultimate power attack, but ends up losing because of it.
It certainly worked better than in the others. Yoda was clearly tired at the end.B wrote:Actually, it worked against Yoda. He got thrown back, but Yoda lost the battle at that point.Anders wrote:In every single one he goes for the ultimate power attack, but ends up losing because of it.
It got Nick Windu.B wrote:This also brings up another point. Has Force lightning ever won a fight? Why are the Sith so proud of it?

Either only because of Anakin, or Palpatine is a good actor.wease wrote:It got Nick Windu.B wrote:This also brings up another point. Has Force lightning ever won a fight? Why are the Sith so proud of it?
Just one. Luke won with just one hand. Vader won with just one hand.B wrote:Only after his hands were gone.wease wrote:It got Nick Windu.B wrote:This also brings up another point. Has Force lightning ever won a fight? Why are the Sith so proud of it?
Oh, Palpatine was feigning weakness, for sure. Just icing on the cake to lure Anakin in.Anders wrote:Either only because of Anakin, or Palpatine is a good actor.wease wrote:It got Nick Windu.B wrote:This also brings up another point. Nah. Once the Diad power becomes clear, he no longer wants Rey to kill him.dimejinky99 wrote:I think we’re all missing the point. He wants Rey to kill him.
He says as much.
He’s very likely hoping he can jump into her body and posses it upon death.
It’s exactly the plan he had for Luke on the Death Star too.
Aaaaand there’s your new trilogy. Rey possessed by palpatine taking over the galaxy

He wants an unbroken vessel. He thinks that's Rey. Once he regenerates, he realizes he doesn't need Rey. She can die and he doesn't need a new vessel.
