Okay, the cover sucks, production sucks and there are some real stinkers on the album - but I still have a soft spot for S/T. I don't care what any of you think. I still really enjoy the first half of the album, and the 2006 tour is still one of my favorites.

The excellent 2006 tour doesn't change my opinion that the album they were touring behind was shit.

I actually like the album quite a bit too, friend. It's an uneven effort, but there's a lot on there I enjoy the holy hell out of.

Personally I prefer the avocado to five sweaty gorilla-men in ridiculous outfits engaged in a group high five, but then I'm not an art person.

Gods of Grunge in the Kitchen
Why do so many chefs love Pearl Jam? They explain.
Chef Victor Albisu wrote:"Pearl Jam's music connects like-minded people, which is just one of the reasons I think they're one of the greatest American rock bands ever."
Likewise, Marc Forgione, of his eponymously named New York restaurant, says hearing "Porch" for the first time "literally shook me to the bone. As a rebellious 12-year-old, it was like a calling to all to get up and live: Jump off something; break something; shout as loud as you can; get a guitar; start a band. It was like waking up."
