I don't think there's much crossover between the Ape/Man boots and my preferred 2000 shows.

I think a bunch of Apeman shows that are totes worth listening:

Katowice 2
Verona
Mansfield 1
Chicago (one of my faves ever)
San Diego
Boise (as a bunch of people above have suggested)

I definitely wasn't suggesting any were bad or not worth picking up, only that most of my go-to 2000 shows aren't on that list. If I had to pick up a top five, I'd probably say:

Pinkpop, Landgraaf, The Netherlands - June 12
Hamburg, Germany - June 26
West Palm Beach, FL - August 9 (night 1)
St Louis, MO - October 11
Albuquerque, NM - October 20

None of which were Ape/Man shows - of those, I'd definitely recommend Katowice 2, Verona and Detroit however.

Yep, especially the bolded. Chicago is just a remarkable show, maybe my favorite full PJ show I've ever heard. The Parting Ways from this show is extraordinary.

Verona 2000 was my first bootleg. It is a great one.

Listening to a 2008 bootleg. No work for my subwoofer. Never noticed that before. They sound off to begin with.

I agree with most of this. Pinkpop is great but there are other shows from that tour I like more, like Prague and Glasgow.

So far so good, but a little sloppy. The setlist is a nice balance of all their albums up to Binaural, which I love. Plus note the random mid-set "Of the Girl"!

That guy he pulled up to sing Smile is from the town I live in. Don't know him tho.

This show is one of my biggest regrets. The (new) wife and I had tickets to go. As it turned out, in order to go, I would've had to help her set up at the world's longest yard sale and work all day in 100+ degree heat. I really hate yard sales and heat, so I decided to just work at my actual job that day. She took a friend of hers with her to the show while I skipped it. From my list of songs I haven't seen, I would've gotten Of The Girl. So, I didn't miss much (that wouldn't happen until Nashville 2003), but I still wish I'd have gone.

Flipping through some 2014 boots in preparation for a mix I want to make. This is easily the best the band has sounded since 2006 and it isn't even close. They're mostly pretty tight, Ed's vocals sound about as good as could possibly be expected for his age, and the band sound really energetic.

I'm looking forward to making this mix.

Why 2014 and not '15 or '16?

I think the band sounded better in 2010 than in 2014. Unfortunately the boots didn't.

Why 2014 and not '15 or '16?

I refuse to even listen to the 2015 boots because of the vocal distortion. I may make a 2016 mix (actually, I probably will) but I'm not as enamored with those shows as the 2014 shows. Ed's vocals are really off on a lot of the shows. Sometimes he sounds fine, sometimes he even sounds good, but sometimes he sounds really bad, squeaky and off time. The band sounds great most of the time at least.

There are a lot of great shows on that tour but there are a lot of clunkers too. The boots sound like crap though, and that's the main reason I've never gotten around to making a mix of that tour.

This is so true, 2010 had some killer shows, but the sound quality was awful.

San Francisco - October 31st, 2000 is easily one of my favourite bootlegs. Disc one is enjoyable enough, but there's just something about disc two that I love. Ed's banter, the song choice, sound quality etc. It's a great listen.

This is also the show where the band came out for the encores dressed as the Village People, and Ed brought two people on stage during DTE wearing Bush and Gore masks, if I'm not mistaken.

Glasgow 2000, because the Euro leg of that tour - while mixed a little low volume-wise - still have some of the best mixes of any boots ever. Matt's drumming on Habit is ridiculous good too.
