Downtown Train was pretty good. Covering Tom is not easy, but I've always liked Norah Jones' cover of Long Way Home:

Hey strat (and everyone else but mostly strat  ) ... I'm sure you're aware of this (maybe we've even talked about it briefly?), but I hadn't heard these collabs before. Just wanted to makes sure you were aware of these and had heard this story about The Replacements and Tom.

Yea man I can’t wait. Absolutely a perfect collaboration for me obviously. I’ve heard date to church and those random pieces from westerbergs release but I can’t wait to hear all of it.

God's Away on Business is so terrifyingly sexy.

I love it so much. That whole album is perfection. It's like someone put my nightmares on stage and made me watch. But it made me kinda horny, though. You know?

I went to a performance of A Christmas Carol a few years ago (we go to the same theater for it every year) and they incorporated a few lines from God's Away into the show.

You should check out the tom waits sessions on the new replacements release. Its on spotify. Awesome window into just a couple boozy musicians hanging out and fucking around in a studio.

Only Paul Westerberg can call tom waits a fucker.
