I feel we need the Oils now more than ever. I was too young in the 80s to appreciate the messages and their stances.

I remember my mum drove a Peugeot around the atoll testing and she used to get beeped all the time. That was 20 yrs ago. It seems like it should be 50 years ago. How can or could there be nuclear testing in such recent history. Hercules is probably my fave Oils track and that refrain makes my blood boil and the hair on my neck stand up. We remember.

And I'm glad that our boys are getting exposed to bands like the Oils and PJ. Bands that make or made you proud to support.

Listening to NME's Top 500 Songs and I never knew Atomic was a Blondie tune.

Mark Lanegan might be the best artist from the 90s.

Auerbach should use his side projects/solo stuff for this type of music and get the black keys back in the basement.

Im excited about the arcs album.

Big Star's "Radio City" is one of the most flawless albums I've ever heard. And it blows my mind that it was recorded in 1973. You could easily fool anyone into thinking it was early-80's power pop. What could have been, if only their record label had been competent!

Random thought: Every time I see that Tyler, the Creator is still getting media coverage, I become slightly annoyed.

Is Weezer's "Pork and Beans" the most dated music video ever?

Listening to the new Miley Cyrus album. You can really hear how much of an influence The Flaming Lips have had on her.

If the first couple tracks are any indication, I will not be one of them.

Age 39 seemed to be the age that I became "out of touch" with new music. I just can't keep up anymore.

Haha, I actually don't think they are a good indication. Nothing else on the album sounds like the opener, and it gets progressively dreamier and trippier as it goes. It's a Psychedelic Pop record.

I like this album, but 92 minutes might be a bit excessive.
