Going to be hard to digest a double album at my age, even if it's Wilco. I'll walk that back at some point I'm sure, but I was really starting to dig the brevity of the last three albums.

For the record, I'm excited! Just haven't had my coffee yet.
Also I was enjoying these posts a lot when I thought trag was trolling. Mostly because it was so out of character

Love the song. For some reason, a double album of throwback alt-country ear candy with a Nelsy twist feels like just the right zig for the Wilco canon to take at the moment. Looking forward.

A lot of fun; I love the reverb-drenched Telecaster sound from the guitar coming out of the right channel.

yeah I’d gladly take a whole album of this stuff, though my preference would be for more of an odds n sods approach
Oops, I think I convoluted the various posts leading up to the song -- somehow I registered your "straight country twang" comment as applying to the whole album, not just the single. I'm down with whatever from these guys.

A bit more info on the record....
Cruel Country is almost entirely composed of live takes recorded at the Loft in Chicago—a method not employed by Wilco since recording Sky Blue Sky—and follows a loose conceptual narrative of the history of the United States. As the title implies, the album finds Wilco embracing the genre of country music. “We’ve never been particularly comfortable with accepting that definition, the idea that I was making country music. But now, having been around the block a few times, we’re finding it exhilarating to free ourselves within the form, and embrace the simple limitation of calling the music we’re making country,” said Jeff Tweedy in a statement.
They also say they're going to play the record in full at Solid Sound.
