universal truth. cab drivers will try scam you no matter where you are in the world.
hows the trip other than that? are you going to any of the outta the way islands or just the big hits?
yeah, i always thought it was kind of funny that cab drivers are mostly the worst in every part of the world. Its almost as if its required for the job.
if you have your wits about you, theyre also the ones that can get you bags of fun be it coke or e or if you need to know where the real deal party is at..
but you have to have your wits about you for that conversation and interaction and what follows

Big hits. We’re going to some islands on a boat thing tomorrow and we get to actually swim. I’ve been longing to swim in this heat and humidity.
Having lunch in a sushi place today. Unlike America, practically no tuna dishes and virtually all salmon. One sea bream thing (cooked) and a handful of sea bass items of which I got the nigiri. We have a tour of Cape Sounion tonight followed by a meal at a seafood restaurant. Apparently it’s an hour and a half away so this whole excursion is gonna be 5-6 hours.
Athens has been the most uncomfortable (not the right word but can’t think of a word that fits) city we’ve been to. In both France and Italy, I could kinds get by because I recognize the letters of everything, but the Greek language is absolutely alien to me. The only word I’ve been able to deduce was “lemon” and that’s only because only the first letter was different. However, I’m vastly enjoying the city.

youll be no less bewildered but you wont be scammed at least lookin forward to it!
Went to get our Aussie driver’s licenses this morning. Since my current US one was renewed last year, to the DMV here, it looks like I’ve only had a license for a year, meaning I’d have to take a driving test and be on their version of a learner’s permit, even though I’ve been driving for 30 years.
Anyway, they found a process and form around it. I signed something saying I’ve been driving on a license since before I was 18, so all good. That would’ve been so demeaning otherwise.
Moral of the story… hang onto your old licenses, and bring them with you to the country you move to, if you ever do so.
AND ALWAYS PUT ANOTHER SHRIMP ON THE BARBIEi will show myself out...

My wife and one BIL seem to have a low key rivalry dating back many years. He just pivoted from getting a new ute to a BMW i4 EV. We’re getting a new Tesla next week…

Do you feel as if every other EV driver on the road is a rival?
