Yeah, no idea why. I recall listening through MCatIS ages ago but not really paying attention. I love some of their singles and radio hits but never gotten into them as an album band.

Gish is going very well so far I must say though.

Generally speaking I am not a fan of double albums. Give me my media in acceptable length meal size chunks please. For music that's the good old 45 minute album.

If it can't fit on 1 side of my D90 cassette then you need to trim some of that fat, mother fuckers.

Gish was great, loving Siamese Dream even more. I kinda missed these big drums and early 90s guitars lately.

I am on it. Off to Broome for work Monday am so those 2 will be my airplane listening.

Mellon Collie and Down on the Upside are both albums that a lot of people seem to love, but I can't enjoy that much due to the muddy production. Maybe they just suffer in comparison to the perfect production of their predecessor albums, I dunno.

I really appreciate that Down on the Upside does not sound like Superunknown. I absolutely adore both albums.

I wouldn’t remotely consider these albums to be “muddy.” Can you try some other ways to articulate what you’re hearing that turns you off?

Gloppy, muckish, thwippy

Mellon Collie does have some mud on the heavier tracks. Flood was adamant he wanted to capture the live essence of the band, so a lot of those songs are basically straight live takes. They don't sound bad, but they lack the polish of Siamese Dream.

I don't really get the muddy angle for DotU though.
