best case scenario is ed was off in hawaii or traveling for corporate events most of the time, while the rest of the band was left to construct the record. bring ed in late or in spurts to sing the songs, minimal participation in the creative process.Birds in Hell wrote:I'll be very interested to see the tracklist and who wrote the songs.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Same, though I’m afraid it sounds too good to be true. I like the cover art, I like the name of the single, I love that they moved away from O'Brien - it's looking good.
I'm not expecting miracles but a solid, enjoyable addition to their catalogue would be very welcome, especially after Lightning Bolt.
If I see a bunch of Ed and Mike songs, my hopes will deflate.
Stone, Jeff and Matt? Alright, now we're in business.

Pretty much most of Ten was done like that, right?spike wrote:best case scenario is ed was off in hawaii or traveling for corporate events most of the time, while the rest of the band was left to construct the record. bring ed in late or in spurts to sing the songs, minimal participation in the creative process.Birds in Hell wrote:I'll be very interested to see the tracklist and who wrote the songs.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Same, though I’m afraid it sounds too good to be true. Was also thinking in a few weeks, around 27 Jan. Put out first single 2 months before the album drops, seems like a safe betRangi Guy wrote:In a few weeksMonkey_Driven wrote:When do we think this single will drop?
I saw the 23rd mentioned on the interwebs.evenslow wrote:there's no real reason to disregard what that now deleted reddit thread said about releasing the single - was it the 23rd or 24th?

- that vaguely orchestral teaser music.
- the title "dance of the clairvoyants" is so so NOT PJ.
- mike's quote about how it was kinda difficult and experimental.
- NO BOB
- the reddit description of the song - "It's a lower tempo song. A very present synth throughout. Dark vibe with a constant drum beat which sounds almost 80's new wave style in it's production."
this is all good stuff, team.
i've decided we should all will this into being good.
I'm sure they'll still play all the rockers. Your point is moot.littlecomment wrote:evenslow wrote:i realize how dumb this is but the tea leaves are:

Have to wonder if this incident played into any possible change of direction.

The new wave seems like that means more from Jeff and Matt, no?Porn_Break wrote:Reddit wife friend guy had it as the 24th.
Some more random speculation from the pit:
Since everything is coming out now, I can say that my source said that the new album has all kinds of influences, but the one that stood out for me was new wave. Looking forward to hearing how. BTW, his source is in the band.
So more of The Fixer then huh?dad wrote:The new wave seems like that means more from Jeff and Matt, no?Porn_Break wrote:Reddit wife friend guy had it as the 24th.
