Yup.

Today’s news is especially threatening to Rosenstein’s survival, and many Republicans who call firing Mueller a red line will find all manner of reason to go along with a Rosenstein replacement who decides that this matter is effectively concluded.

not really. The rebels are done....Russia and Assad have made sure of that. The only possible outcome Assad sows from dropping chemical bombs on his own people is to stir up the opposition....its propaganda gold, and a very real incentive for the American public to get behind an increase in US actions in Syria.

Militarily it makes no sense....in fact, the only faction that really benefits from it is the US.

If the rebels are done, then why are Syrian forces still fighting them? They pounded Ghoutta just because?

Zuck seems socially awkward and like he's trying to avoid answering anything that might tip his competitors off to Facebook IP. But he also seems like he appreciates the gravity of the situation and his role within it. Losing $6B in a couple days will do that, I imagine.

standard playbook is to launch a few cruise missiles at a largely defenseless country, in this case, Syria; to distract from the drama at home

then after that point potentially escalate more, but you keep it low-intensity

there won’t be all out war with Iran because they have a massive, reasonably well-equipped military, including some kind of nuclear capability, and economic ties to europe

Others like Sekolow who’ve either been working for him in a side role, or in an unofficial capacity. Individually they wouldn’t stand out, but at an all-lawyer meeting with the Dersch and no Cohen....

Friday night, tops. It'll be Rosenstein rather than Mueller, and he'll try to install Pruitt as the acting AG, who will derail the Mueller investigation to the best of his ability. But it may already be too late -- lots of charges already filed, lots of document requests already in the pipeline.
